Auto Diagnstic Scanner And ESC

In Mercedes Benz cars, the electrically adjustable steering column (ESC) is controlled by the "memory" system which features the following functions among others:
· Manual seat and steering column adjustment
· Driver-side memory adjustment (seat, steering column, outside rearview mirror)
· Passenger-side memory adjustment (seat)
· Easy entry/exit
· Mirror park position
· Key-dependent settings in instrument cluster (A1)
Manual steering column adjustment
The position of the steering column can be adjusted electrically using the steering column adjustment switch (S59). The following can be adjusted independently:
· The longitudinal position of the steering column
· The height of the steering column
Memory steering column adjustment
The memory function can be used to store different steering column positions. The positions are stored using the memory button in the left front door control module (N69/1).Easy entry/exit
The "easy entry/exit" function makes it easier for the driver to get into and out of the car by raising the steering column to the upper block position.
Note:The easy entry/exit function can be activated in the instrument cluster.
