Description of Fault code P245C

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) COOLER BYPASS CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

Possible failuer P245C

• EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator (Short to ground)
• EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator control harness (Short to ground)
• Engine Control Module (ECM) internal control circuit failure
• Engine Control Module (ECM) internal diagnostic circuit failure

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex II Scan Tool

• The resistance of about 80 kΩ between the EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator control line and the ECU ground is detected for a set period of time.

Test Conditions using AutoHex tester

• Continuously

• The resistance of about 80 kΩ between the EGR Cooler Bypass valve actuator control line and the ECU ground is detected for a set period of time.
