Diagnstic Scanner And Tire Pressure Monitor

(TPM) components
(TPM) components
Mercedes Benz (TPM) Tire Pressure Monitor observes the Tire pressure of the four wheels and the tire temperature is taken into account when comparing the current tire pressure with the saved specified value. The TPM control unit (N88) calculates the valid limits for the current tire temperature.
If the tire pressure falls below these limits, the TPM control unit (N88) passes an appropriate CAN message to the instrument cluster (A1) according to the pressure deviation.
Input signals:
· Left front TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/44)
· Right front TPM [RDK] wheel antenna A2/45
· Left rear TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/46)
· Right rear TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/47)
· Power supply, terminal 30
The following information is processed:
Instrument cluster (A1)
· INITIALIZING
Driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
· Outside air temperatures
· Circuit 61 "ON" (to detect "engine running")
EIS control unit (N73)
· Wheel speeds
· circuit 15 "On"
Central gateway control unit (N93)
· Country code
· Engine / body variant
· Diagnosis active
This CAN signal is processed in the instrument cluster (A1) and the appropriate information are displayed for the driver on the multifunction display (A1p13).
Note: As from 01.06.03 in parallel to the "hard warning" the yellow tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) in the instrument cluster (A1) is actuated. This goes out again after the tire pressure monitor system (TPM) is reactivated.
The CAN data bus sets up a connection to the:
· Instrument cluster (A1)
· Driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
· EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
· Central gateway control unit (N93)
The following information is output over CAN data bus:
· Instrument cluster (A1)
· Tire pressures
· Function relevant messages
· Operation relevant messages
· Central gateway control unit (N93) Diagnosis
(TPM) Tire Pressure Monitor components:
· A1 Instrument cluster
· A2/44 Left front TPM [RDK] wheel antenna
· A2/45 Right front TPM wheel antenna
· A2/46 Left rear TPM [RDK] wheel antenna
· A2/47 Right rear TPM [RDK] wheel antenna
· A69/1 Left front TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
· A69/2 Right front TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
· A69/3 Left rear TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
· A69/4 Right rear TPM [RDK] wheel sensor
· N10/1 Driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
· N73 EIS [EZS] control unit
· N88 TPM [RDK] control unit
· N93 Central gateway control unit
