Description of OBD II Fault code P1031

FUEL HEATER CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

Possible failuer of OBD II Fault code P1031

• Fuel Heater Relay (Contact stuck ON)
• Fuel Heater High-side harness (Short to power or open)
• Fuel Heater Low-side harness (Open or short to ground)
• Power Distribution Detection harness (Short to power or open)
• Power Distribution Detection unit fuse blown

Diagnostic Procedure using AutoHex auto Scan tool tester

• The High level (12 V) of the Fuel Heater return signal is detected with the OFF direction output of the Fuel Heater Relay for a set period of time.

Test Conditions using AutoHex Scan tool tester

• During the OFF direction output of the Fuel Heater
• The battery voltage > 10500 mV

Clear Fault codes Conditions

• The High level (12 V) of the Fuel Heater return signal is detected with the OFF direction output of the Fuel Heater Relay for a set period of time.

MIL Status

• Glow ON
